I just wanted to thank you and to let you know that I’ve seen considerable savings in the amount of propane that I’m using since you put the new hot water heater in for me in July.
I was able to compare the gallons of propane I’ve used to how much I used in the same time period for the previous two years. So just since you put the new hot water heater in, it looks like I’ve used about 100 gallons less as compared to the same time period in 2014 and 2013. That savings is on top of what I saved after you converted my boiler from oil to propane two years ago.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been near 20 years that you’ve been doing work here at the house. I really appreciate all that you do. For me, it’s sure a comfort to know that I can call you, particularly at times of urgent matters, and that you’ll always be here and take care of everything. On one of the first sub-freezing nights this winter my stepdaughter’s furnace quit working after a power outage.
I live 30 miles away and tried to fix the problem over the phone with no luck. I googled HVAC in Naples, NY and found Comstock HVAC. I am glad I did!! In the summer of 2014 I purchased a quaint home on Canandaigua Lake that began it’s existence as a barn in 1883. In 1980 it had been converted to a year round home. The previous owners had installed electric baseboard heating units in every room. This wasn’t an efficient heating system. Since my husband and I planned to make the lake front house our retirement home, we decided to put in an entirely new heating system.
I have allergies to dust, so I didn’t want forced air heat. I spoke with three HVAC contractors. The first two had been recommended by renovation contractors and spent less than a half an hour in the house. One threw out a very low price off the top of his head and the other sent a very high quote in the mail three months later.
The third HVAC contractor was Comstock HVAC, recommended by a good friend. I was impressed with Matt Burt’s professionalism and interest in the details at our first meeting. He looked in the crawl spaces and did calculations for an hour all the time listening carefully to my needs. I wanted hot water radiators. Matt did his research and found an efficient up to date hot water radiator system. He coordinated his installation with my renovation contractor and was a pleasure to work with. This was not an easy installation since the house was originally built as a barn and had no basement.
I don’t think any other HVAC contractor in the area could have done this installation. The radiators are streamline and discreet. Last winter we enjoyed the warm comfort of our silent heating system. Since the installation, I’ve called Matt with questions. He always returns my calls and is quick to come to the house if needed. I would recommend Comstock HVAC to anyone in need of repairs or replacement of a their heating or cooling system. "

" After only 7 years our hot water heater is done for. That’s right… no hot water in February in NY.
Thankfully we called Comstock HVAC, Inc. out of Naples and they came today. The problem with the 7 year old tank that should have lasted 20 years… electrical components. Surly it’s under warranty? Nope, warranty lasted ….. you guest it, 7 years. So sick of major appliances being made with electrical components that only last one month past their warranty. Oh the joys of home ownership ??.
